Starting July 2016, I will be showing and selling my work at COMA Coffee and Roasters at 1034 South Brentwood Blvd, found in the main lobby of the University Tower building across from Blue Sky Cafe.

My name is Erica Wagner, and I am a multi-media artist specializing in abstract oil painting, photo-realistic charcoal animal portraits and most recently handmade jewelry designing.

My abstract paintings express my love for color, texture, and luminosity, which translates into my jewelry as well.  Every piece is truly one of a kind, which is part of what I love about fine art.  My painting style is a mixture of scuffled brushwork and the use of painting knives (they are not airbrushed, every painting is painted with a standard brush).  Each textured oval is individually done with a painting knife, which creates a very organic and rhythmic flow to each piece. My work is very influenced by the masters such as Matisse, Van Gogh, Monet, Caravaggio (the list goes on and on), along with contemporaries such as portrait/abstract painter Chuck Close, and photographer, David Maisel.

After graduating from the University of Michigan, Penny W. Stamps School of Art and Design (Go Blue) with a BFA, in April 2012, I decided to return to my hometown of St. Louis, Missouri to pursue a career as a freelance artist. I have been participating in art shows across the St. Louis, and Chicago area and hope to continue for years to come.
